The University of Patras (UPAT) is a Greek academic and research entity with extensive experience in management of EU and National funded projects. The participating group from the Department of Pharmacy has extensive experience in large-scale production, purification/isolation, physicochemical characterization, and NMR studies for the elucidation of the structure and dynamics of biomolecules. The Department of Pharmacy, due to its “excellence in research and in management” has acquired one of the most competitive EU grants, namely REGPOT-2011 (SEEDRUG project). The group has a pan-European network of scientific collaborations and has participated in many EU-funded projects related to the present proposal. The last years the group has successfully organized a number of workshop on molecular and structural biology, with one of them (May 2013) being at the field of biomolecular NMR and its application in life sciences. A number of eminent scientists originating from EU, USA, Canada, Japan and elsewhere, have participated in these workshops.
In iNEXT, UPAT also represents the Institute of Biology, Medicinal Chemistry and Biotechnology of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) in Athens.
